New Brunswick Pharmacare Implementation Act
New Brunswick's Bill 50 (New Brunswick Pharmacare Implementation Act) is the Holt Liberal government's framework legislation operationalizing the federal-provincial Pharmacare bilateral agreement under Bill C-64 (Pharmacare Act, S.C. 2024, c. 20). New Brunswick was the third province to sign the federal pharmacare bilateral on contraceptives and diabetes medications (after BC and PEI in 2025). The Act establishes the NB Pharmacare Office, sets eligibility rules for the federal-funded drug coverage of contraceptives and 17 diabetes medications, integrates with the existing NB Drug Plan, and creates a public reporting framework on drug-claim volumes and pharmacy reimbursement rates.
