An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act (List of Therapeutic Products Pre-approved for Special Access)
Bill C-265 in 45-1 was a Liberal Private Member's Bill amending the Food and Drugs Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. F-27) to require Health Canada to publish a public list of therapeutic products approved for use in Canada, including drugs, medical devices, and natural health products. Health Canada currently maintains the Drug Product Database, the Medical Devices Active Licence Listing, and the Licensed Natural Health Products Database as separate public-facing systems with inconsistent search interfaces. The bill called for consolidation into a single public-facing Therapeutic Products List under section 30.1 of the Act, parallel to the EU Medicines Agency's centralised product database and the US FDA Orange Book. Did not pass second reading.
