An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act, the Justice for Victims of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act (Sergei Magnitsky Law), the Broadcasting Act and the Prohibiting Cluster Munitions Act
Omnibus international-human-rights bill. Requires the Foreign Affairs Minister to table an annual list of human-rights violators subject to Magnitsky-style sanctions, requires the CRTC to consider whether granting a licence to a foreign state-controlled broadcaster would undermine Canada's foreign policy, and amends the Prohibiting Cluster Munitions Act and other related statutes.
