An Act to amend the Citizenship Act (granting citizenship to certain Canadians)
Extends Canadian citizenship to so-called 'lost Canadians,' particularly second-generation people born abroad who were excluded by the 2009 first-generation limit in the Citizenship Act. The Ontario Superior Court ruled the first-generation limit unconstitutional in 2023; this bill is the legislative response.
