Brian Jean is the Alberta Minister of Energy and Minerals. United Conservative MLA for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche, first elected provincially in 2015 (as Wildrose Party leader, representing Fort McMurray-Conklin) and re-elected as UCP in 2023 in the Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche riding after a return to the legislature in a March 2022 by-election. Previously the Conservative MP for Fort McMurray-Athabasca from 2004 to 2014, and federal Minister of State for Transport under Stephen Harper. His energy file covers the Pathways Alliance carbon-capture project, oil-sands royalty policy, and the federal-provincial energy-collaboration agreement signed by Premier Smith and Prime Minister Carney in May 2026.
