Rhéal Fortin is House Leader of the Bloc Québécois (since 2019) and MP for Rivière-du-Nord (Quebec), elected in 2015. Briefly served as interim leader of the Bloc Québécois from June 2017 to January 2018 during the leadership transition. Before politics he practised law in Saint-Jérôme for over 30 years. As Bloc House Leader he has negotiated parliamentary schedule and committee membership with the other parties and has led Bloc-driven amendments on the federal Official Languages Act overhaul (Bill C-13 of 44-1).
