Green Party MP for Kitchener Centre since 2021. Background in sustainability consulting and social entrepreneurship. Co-founded Sustainable Waterloo Region in 2008 and Green Economy Canada in 2014, both organizations focused on helping businesses reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. Won Kitchener Centre in 2021 after the Liberal incumbent withdrew during the campaign, becoming only the second Green MP elected to Parliament outside British Columbia (after Bruce Hyer's brief 2008-2011 NDP-then-Green tenure in Thunder Bay). Has tabled multiple Private Member's Bills including on accessible federal disability benefits and a national strategy on the environment and human rights.
