Don Davies is the federal NDP MP for Vancouver Kingsway (BC), first elected in 2008 and re-elected at every subsequent general election. Served as Interim Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada from May 5, 2025 to March 29, 2026 after Jagmeet Singh resigned following the NDP's April 28, 2025 election loss (where the NDP was reduced to 7 seats and Singh lost his Burnaby Central riding). Stepped down from interim leadership when Avi Lewis won the NDP leadership convention in Winnipeg on March 29, 2026. Currently serves as NDP critic for health, having previously held critic responsibilities for international trade and public safety. Before politics he was a Canadian Auto Workers (now Unifor) union representative and a Vancouver labour lawyer. Sponsor of Bill C-212 of 44-1 (the predecessor of the federal National School Food Program delivered in 2024).
