Alain Therrien is House Leader of the Bloc Québécois (since 2019) and MP for La Prairie (Quebec), elected in 2019. Before federal politics he was a Quebec MNA for Sanguinet (Parti Québécois, 2012-2014) and an economics professor at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit for 25 years. As Bloc House Leader he has been a key voice on federal-Quebec fiscal arrangements, the constitutionality of provincial-jurisdiction overreach, and the Bloc's stance on federal-immigration thresholds.
