David Eby is the 37th Premier of British Columbia (since November 18, 2022) and Leader of the BC New Democratic Party. He sits in the Legislative Assembly for Vancouver-Point Grey (elected in a 2013 by-election). Before politics he was Executive Director of the BC Civil Liberties Association. Previously Attorney General (2017-2022) and Minister of Housing under John Horgan. Won the BC NDP leadership uncontested in October 2022 after Horgan's retirement. His government's signature legislation has been the most aggressive provincial housing-supply package in Canada, the 2024 Haida Nation Recognition Act, and the response to BC's drug-decriminalization pilot.
