Ruba Ghazal is Co-Spokesperson of Quebec solidaire (since May 4, 2024) and MNA for Mercier, first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Before politics she was an environmental engineer and worked on industrial-water and waste-treatment projects across Quebec. Took the QS co-spokesperson role alongside Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois after the resignation of Manon Masse and the resignation of Emilise Lessard-Therrien in April 2024. As QS spokesperson she has led the party position on Quebec immigration thresholds, the Bill 96 language-law implementation, and the Northvolt battery-plant subsidy file.
