
Rene Legacy is Minister of Finance and Treasury Board of New Brunswick (since November 2, 2024). Liberal MLA for Bathurst West-Beresford, first elected in 2024 in the general election that brought Susan Holt's Liberals to power. Before politics he was a chartered professional accountant in the Bathurst region. As Finance Minister he has been responsible for the Holt government's first budget, which prioritized health-care funding, the $10-a-day child-care continuation, and the rollback of the Higgs government's controversial Policy 713 changes on gender identity in schools.
