Claudia Chender is Leader of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (since June 25, 2022) and Leader of the Official Opposition (since November 26, 2024). NDP MLA for Dartmouth South, first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021 and 2024. Before politics she was a community organizer and lawyer with the Dalhousie Legal Aid Service. Led the NDP from third-party status into Official Opposition after the 2024 general election, where the NDP overtook the Liberals as the second-largest caucus.
