Matt MacFarlane is the Leader of the Green Party of Prince Edward Island (since 2024, succeeding Karla Bernard) and MLA for Borden-Kinkora, first elected in 2023. Before politics he was a high-school teacher in Charlottetown and Summerside. Took the leadership after the April 2023 general election that reduced the PEI Greens from the Official Opposition (eight seats in 2019) to two seats. Leads a small caucus focused on the Coastal Protection PEI proposal, farmland-protection rules, and the King PC government's housing policies.
