Peter Bethlenfalvy is Minister of Finance of Ontario (since June 20, 2022). MPP for Pickering-Uxbridge, elected in 2018. Before politics he was co-CEO of the DBRS bond-rating agency. Previously Minister of Government and Consumer Services and President of the Treasury Board (2018-2022) under Doug Ford. As Finance Minister he has tabled four Ontario budgets, including the 2022 elimination of vehicle-licence-plate-sticker fees, the 2024 reduction of the gas tax (extended through 2026), and the 2026 Ontario budget responding to federal Bill C-69 capital-gains-inclusion changes (later rescinded by Carney).
