Ken Sim is the 41st Mayor of Vancouver (since November 7, 2022) and leader of A Better City (ABC Vancouver). Born in Vancouver to immigrant parents from Hong Kong. Before politics he co-founded Nurse Next Door (a home healthcare franchise) and Rosemary Rocksalt (a bagel chain). Defeated incumbent Kennedy Stewart in the October 15, 2022 election by 36,000 votes, with ABC sweeping all city council seats. The first Canadian-born Chinese mayor of Vancouver. As Mayor he has overseen the hiring of 100 new VPD officers, the controversial removal of public-drug-use bylaws, the dismissal of the city's chief planner, and the cancellation of the Park Board over staff opposition.
