Scott Gillingham is the 44th Mayor of Winnipeg (since November 4, 2022). Before becoming mayor he served as a Winnipeg city councillor for St. James (2014-2022) and chair of the city's finance committee. A former Pentecostal pastor with the Faith Temple congregation in north Winnipeg. Defeated former mayor Glen Murray and ten other candidates in the October 26, 2022 election with 27 percent of the vote in a divided field. As Mayor he has overseen the 3.5 percent property-tax increase of the 2024 budget, the Portage and Main intersection reopening to pedestrians vote, and the Winnipeg Police Service homicide-rate response.
