Liberal MP for Outremont (Montreal). Former trade lawyer; Parliamentary Secretary on Official Languages. Born in Montreal of Moroccan-Jewish heritage, she practised international trade and investment law at Norton Rose Fulbright before politics, with expertise in NAFTA/CUSMA dispute resolution. First elected to Parliament in the February 2019 byelection triggered by Thomas Mulcair's retirement, holding the Outremont seat through 2019, 2021, and 2025 general elections. Has served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Tourism, the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Minister of Official Languages, and is a vocal advocate on Canada-US trade and economic-security questions.
