Laurel Collins is the NDP Environment and Climate Change Critic and MP for Victoria (British Columbia), elected in 2019. Sponsored Bill C-332 of 44-1 (Criminal Code coercive control as an offence). Before politics she was a community organizer in Victoria and a sociology professor at the University of Victoria. Her parliamentary work has focused on the climate accountability framework, intimate-partner violence (with C-332), and federal-housing policy on Vancouver Island.
