Catherine Fife

Catherine Fife is NDP MPP for Waterloo (first elected in a September 6, 2012 by-election, re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022) and currently serves as NDP House Leader and Finance critic. Before politics she chaired the Waterloo Region District School Board and was president of the Ontario Public School Boards' Association. She has led the NDP's opposition to the Ford government's Bill 124 wage-restraint act on broader-public-sector workers (struck down by the Ontario Superior Court in 2022 as unconstitutional), the Greenbelt land-swap, and the privatization of OHIP-funded surgeries to for-profit clinics.
