
Joel Arseneau is PQ MNA for Iles-de-la-Madeleine, first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Before politics he was the mayor of the Municipalite des Iles-de-la-Madeleine (2009-2017), a Radio-Canada journalist, and the director of the regional tourism association. Currently PQ House Leader and finance and health critic. Has led the PQ's opposition work on Quebec's healthcare network restructuring under Bill 15 (Sante Quebec mega-agency), the Magdalen Islands ferry service, and coastal-erosion adaptation policy.
