Rakhi Pancholi is the Alberta NDP MLA for Edmonton-Whitemud, first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023. Before politics she practised commercial law at McLennan Ross LLP in Edmonton for over a decade. In May 2024 she launched a campaign for the Alberta NDP leadership succeeding Rachel Notley but withdrew before the convention to endorse Naheed Nenshi (who won on June 22, 2024). Currently serves as the Alberta NDP critic for finance, focusing her caucus work on the Smith UCP government's spending overruns and the 31st Legislature affordability files.
