
Brad Johns is Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Nova Scotia (since August 31, 2021). PC MLA for Sackville-Beaver Bank, first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021 and 2024. Before provincial politics he served as a Halifax Regional Municipality councillor for Middle/Upper Sackville for 17 years. As Attorney General he has overseen Nova Scotia's response to the federal Bail Reform Act (C-48 of 44-1), the Mass Casualty Commission Turner-MacDonald report implementation following the April 2020 Portapique mass shooting, and the Public Inquiries Act reform.
