Robert Gauvin is Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Public Safety of New Brunswick (since November 2, 2024). Liberal MLA for Shediac Bay-Dieppe, first elected in 2014 as a Progressive Conservative, re-elected in 2018 and 2020, and re-elected as a Liberal in 2024 after crossing the floor in 2020 over the Higgs government's francophone-services cuts. Previously served as PC Deputy Premier (2018-2020) under Blaine Higgs before leaving the party. As Justice Minister he has overseen NB's response to the federal Bail Reform Act and the strengthening of provincial francophone-rights protections.
