Brad Bradford is a Toronto City Councillor for Beaches-East York (Ward 19), first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Before politics he was a senior urban planner with the City of Toronto Planning Division. Centre-right by Toronto council standards, he ran for Toronto mayor in the June 26, 2023 by-election following John Tory's resignation, finishing fourth with 8 percent of the vote behind Olivia Chow, Ana Bailao, and Mark Saunders. As a councillor he has focused on the Yonge North subway extension into Markham, the East Yonge Street pedestrianization, and the Beaches-East York affordable-housing pipeline.
