An Act to establish the Financial Crimes Agency and to make consequential amendments to certain Acts and regulations
Creates a standalone Financial Crimes Agency at the federal level, consolidating money-laundering, terrorist-financing, and large-scale fraud enforcement that today sits across FINTRAC, the RCMP, and CRA. Follows recommendations from the 2022 Cullen Commission report on BC money-laundering and the 2024 Standing Committee on Finance review.
