An Act respecting water, source water, drinking water, wastewater and related infrastructure on First Nation lands
Replaces the 2013 Safe Drinking Water for First Nations Act, which First Nations leadership had asked Parliament to repeal because it set obligations without commensurate federal funding. The new framework adds funding commitments, recognizes Indigenous water rights, and updates source-water and wastewater standards on First Nation lands.
