Affordable Housing Acceleration Act (Quebec)
Quebec's PL 71 (Affordable Housing Acceleration Act) is the CAQ government's first substantive social-housing statute since the 2002 reorganization of the Quebec social-housing program. Adds approximately $1.8 billion over five years for non-profit housing construction, tightens rent-fixation rules at the Tribunal administratif du logement, restructures the AccèsLogis program into the new Programme d'habitation abordable Québec, and requires municipalities of 25,000 or more to set affordable-housing inclusionary-zoning targets in their plans d'urbanisme.
