Ranj Pillai is the 11th Premier of Yukon (since January 14, 2023) and Leader of the Yukon Liberal Party. He sits in the Legislative Assembly for Porter Creek South. Succeeded Sandy Silver as Premier and Liberal leader. Before becoming Premier he was Deputy Premier and Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, and Culture. The Yukon Liberals govern with a supply-and-confidence agreement with the Yukon NDP. Pillai is the first South Asian-Canadian Premier in Canadian history.
