Damien Kurek is a Conservative politician who represented Battle River-Crowfoot, Alberta as a Member of Parliament from 2019 until he resigned on June 17, 2025. He stepped aside so party leader Pierre Poilievre, who had lost his Carleton seat in the April 2025 general election, could run in the resulting by-election; Poilievre won it on August 18, 2025. The Conservative national council confirmed Kurek in December 2025 as the party's candidate for the riding at the next general election. Before politics he worked as a political staffer and in agriculture in east-central Alberta.
